Charts of Interest Functions

There are a few functions of the Charts of Interest Videos that you may want to be aware of. When you pull up the Charts of Interest and press the play button you will notice three (3) icons located in the bottom right hand corner of the screen. If you hover your mouse over these icons you will see pop ups that describe each icon. -Volume icon -Table of Contents icon -Fullscreen Mode icon The 3rd icon from the right shows a speaker symbol and if you hover your mouse over it you will see the volume control pop up. If you hover over the next icon you will see "Table of Contents" pop up. If you click "Table of Contents" you will see the different segments of the video and can click on the segment that you wish to view. The last icon to the right will allow you to view the video in fullscreen mode.

Opening a Trading Account from outside the United States

The Trading Trainer Community is made up of people from all over the world. There are many brokerages and trading platforms that will allow you to open up a US trading account. Think or Swim is one of them and TradeStation as well. You will have to do some investigating of your own. You should also ask their customer service about tax ramifications also.

How much does it cost to write a covered call

The actual cost of buying a stock and writing a covered call depends on the price of the stock and the option. You must own at least 100 shares of a stock before you can sell 1 call contract against it. 1 contract applies to 100 shares of stock. So if the stock is $5, it will cost you $5x100 = $500 to purchase the stock. You can then sell 1 contract for each 100 shares.

Charts Loading Slowly

If you are experiencing chart loading problems especially with the Trading Trainer pre-existng template setups you may want to downgrade your version of Java.

After extensive testing we have found that Java 6 Update 7 works optimally with the charting tool. Any updates higher than 7 may cause your charts to load slowly. The latest Java updates also seem to work fairly well.

To uninstall a previous version of Java, please follow these instructions.

Click Start
Control Panel
Programs
Uninstall a Program
Scroll down until you find the Java version currently installed on your computer.
Highlight the program and click uninstall.
Follow the instructions to uninstall the program.

To install Java 6 update 7 go to java.com.

Click Downloads in the top tool bar of the page.
Click other Java versions located in box to the left.
Click the Archive Java Technology Products Download link located under older versions.
Next to Java Platform Standard Edition (Java SE) JDK/JRE - 6
Click the drop down box to find 6 Update 7
Click go.
Click Download JRE

How To Get Your Specific Trading Questions Answered

What is the best way to get your trading specific question answered?

First, as a member of the online Trading Trainer Community you have access to the Community Forum. You can find this on the Trading Trainer Web Portal under the Learning Center Tab. Here you will find posts from other members of the community. If you have a trading question, you may post it here and either AJ or other experienced members of the community will answer them. Often times you can find the answer to your question by doing a search on key terms.

Another way to get answers to your questions is by sending a private message to AJ. All you need to do is log into the website. click on the Learning Center Tab and then click "Community Forum". Once the page loads you will see

Board index
User Control Panel (xx new messages) View your posts

Click the link (xx new messages). This will bring you to the private messaging area. Click "New PM" then fill out the form as indicated.

This system is very similar to e-mail. Enter aj in the username field then fill in the subject and body of your message and click submit at the bottom of the page.

The support desk is generally limited to technical and membership questions.

Getting Started With Trading Trainer

New members often ask what is the best and fastest way to get up to speed quickly with the Trading Trainer System.

As a new member to the Trading Trainer Community the first thing you'll want to do is bookmark this web address for our login page.

Here are a few areas that you may want to study .

Log into the web portal at login.tradingtrainer.com and click on the
Learning Center Tab.

Underneath the Learning Center Tab you will see a link to "Workshop Replays".

This is a great place to start. There are 12 "Workshop Replays", each of them
run about 1 1/2 hours. They are replays of webinars AJ did in research
for his book and take you through the Trading Trainer process from A
to Z. This will take you some time but we believe well worth it.

Next, go through the Quick Start Teleclass. Be sure to download the
workbook from the link towards the middle of the page. These are all
audio links and you must follow in the workbook. There may be some
overlap in the material as that also starts you at the beginning with
options. The class is from a few years ago but still contains plenty
of pertinent information regarding the system and the templates that
AJ uses.

You should then go through the "Site Tutorial" which will show you how
to navigate the website and read the reports.

Be sure to listen to the Daily Recommendations and watch the Charts of Interest
videos you receive notifications via e-mail each day. You will pick up something new each time.

If you have questions that you don't feel have been answered in this
material, then please go to the Community Forum (also located under the Learning Center Tab) and first search for the answer by entering key words in the search area. You will probably find many articles that answer your question.

If for some reason you still do not get the answer, then post your question in the Community Forum. You will be sure to get a response there.

Getting up to speed will depend on how much time you have to study
the material and how dedicated you are. It may seem overwhelming at first, but once you understand it it will become second nature.

How Do I Get Into A Trading Trainer Investment Group?

AJ believes that being in an investment group is the "Holy Grail" of investing. Becoming a member of a group is one of your first steps on your road to successful options training.

To become a member of an existing group or form a new group, you must first watch the Investment Group Tutorial. This can be found under the Investment Groups Tab. Watch this video and learn how to get your name posted on the Group Wanted Board.

Once your name is posted on the Group Wanted Board, you must then seek out other members listed on this board that want to meet at the same time as you, are in the same time zone (not necessary, but may be helpful for convenient meeting times), and have the same trading style as you.

You may also contact existing Groups that are looking for new members.

Next, Private Message these members and ask them if they would like to form a group with you. Once you have 2-5 members, decide on a Group name and the times for your meetings.

Now you should contact the Group Admin through the Private Messaging system in the Group Forum and request that your group be established and who will be the members of the group.

Once the Group Admin has set up the group they will contact you to notify you that you can now begin having meetings and posting your nightly picks. To send a private message, all you need to do is log into the website. Click on the Learning Center Tab and then click "Community Forum" or the Investment Group Tab and then "Group Collaboration". Once the page loads you will see Board index User Control Panel (xx new messages) View your posts Click the link (xx new messages). This will bring you to the private messaging area. How to view the DVD

How to view the DVD

The video portion of the DVD is best viewed by inserting the DVD, not into your computer, but rather into a standard DVD player attached to a television set.

The bonus audios and transcripts are best accessed by inserting the DVD into your computer. Immediately close whatever default software attempts to launch, whether it was successful or not. Then, using either "My Computer" or "Windows Explorer" select the DVD-ROM drive, then further select the subdirectory labeled "DVD-ROM". Located within that subdirectory are compressed zip files of the audios and zip files.

How To Clear Your Cache Or Temporary Internet Files

Please follow these instructions to clear your cache or delete your temporary internet files.

For Firefox users. (Internet Explorer instructions below)

1. Click Tools.

2. In the drop down box that appears, click “Clear Recent History”.

3. Click the arrow next to “Details” to show your options of items to clear.

4. Check the box next to “Cache”.

5. Click the box that says “Clear Now”.

For Internet Explorer Users

1. Click Tools.

2. Click Internet Options

3. Click the General Tab

4. Click Delete in the Browsing History section.

5. Select “Temporary Internet Files”.

6. Click on “Delete”.

Problem with videos downloading or playing

If you are having problems downloading and viewing the videos on the website please follow these directions.

In your browser -

Go to Tools.
Then Internet Options.
Then click the Privacy Tab.
Then click the Sites Button.
Copy and paste this address into the box.

Click Allow and then OK.

To update your cookies please follow these instructions.

Go to Tools=> Internet Options=>Privacy Tab=>Advanced Button.

How Much Money Do I Need To Get Started?

A very large component of the Trading Trainer system or plan, if you will, is 'Money Management'. Money management, at a high level, is maximizing your gains, minimizing your losses and make sure you stay an investor for the long haul (don't blow your whole initial investment on one trade that loses.) Our money management rules limit how much of our portfolio we can invest in any one trade.

Options are sold in lots of 100 called a contract. These two boundary conditions combined, will price us out of the range most options cost, if our portfolio isn't big enough.

What is big enough? Some people start with 2,000 USD. But, the choices really don't open up to you until you are in the 5,000 - 20,000 USD range.

Here's the best way to make sure you get a commission for your peeps going to the Intensive Training...

1. Log into the member site

2. Click on the Affiliate tab.

(Or log directly into the affiliate system by visiting http://tradingtrainer.com/affiliate )

3. Click on 'Email Links' in the left navigation menu under Marketing Materials.

In the main window you will see a pull down menu with all the different promotional links you can use to promote Trading Trainer.

4. Select the one labeled 'Intensive Sales'.

5. Click on the button labeled 'Display Email Links'.

6. Copy and paste the link that appears in the box labeled 'ASCII/Text Version' into an email, send it to your peeps, tell them to click on it and then go register right then and there for the Training. You will then be assured to get your commission.

At the bottom of the window you will see, 'Test Link'. Go ahead, click on the link to see where it will send your peeps. This particular one will send your peeps to the count down page for the Trading Trainer intensive in Orlando.

When someone follows your link to a page, a tracking cookie is put on their computer, and then they are redirected to whatever page the Marketing Group has setup. So long as your peep, has your tracking cookie on their computer, when they make a purchase from Trading Trainer, you will get a commission.

Overlaying the index with the underlying stock

When trying to overlaying the corresponding index onto the chart with the underlying stock, you need to be sure that your settings are correct.

At the top of the chart are 4 icons for "scaling"-

Log (for logarithmicscale, correlated and uncorrelated)

Lin (for linear scale, correlatedand uncorrelated).

When you have a "correlated" scale the chart will use ONE scale on both sides of the chart and it will encompass the range of both tickers.

When you use "UN-correlated", the chart will use TWO scales, one for each ticker.

So the answer is to pick one of the UNCORRELATED scaling options (icons).

The Trading Trainer Affiliate Program works on a two tier system.

30% for the first tier - anyone you refer through your Affiliate Link.

5% for the second tier - anyone your first tier refers.

You are paid on a monthly basis via a check in the mail.

You will NOT receive a credit to your Trading Trainer Membership account.

You will receive a 1099 at the end of the year for all of your Affiliate Commission payments.

How Do I Add New Members To My Group?

Simply contact the Group Admin through the private messaging system in the Group Forum and let her know the username of the member that you would like to add.

Similarly, you should contact the Group Admin if there are existing members of the Group that are not participating and should be removed from the Group.
